what is the purpose of the windows livejournal client? is it to allow the users to post their thoughts to their journal in an easy manner? is it to provide an interface to the livejournal server? is it to mimick a webpage creation software? is it to support every tag in the html spec? is it to mimick a word processor for the web?

the reason i ask these questions... is that some of the "requests for features" that i have recieved, basically... have been asking me to develop a full-featured word processor for the web (livejournal server).

i view the client this way... it is an agent to allow posting ones thoughts in a convienent manner. i do not view it as something that should have 'advanced' html support, full-fledged formatting abilities, or mimick a lightweight html 'creator'. i believe that users that want advanced formatting, should be advanced enough to be able to type it in... not have to rely on me to do it for them.

am i wrong for having this view?
