okay, there is no way that I can find to steal the current playing song from media player 7. I can enumerate the windows... but short of doing a memory dump compare to find the listbox control... I can't grab that object or any text from it. even if I could, media player doesn't set the item to be "selected" as it is playing it... so figuring out what song it was actually playing from the playlist would be quite difficult.

ill post something to the media player newsgroup and see if there is something I am overlooking. if there isn't, then windows media player 7 will not get auto-detection support.
